The irregularity of the shapes translates into absolute perfection: the Aros carpet collection by Nanimarquina is a pleasant journey of elegance and refinement. Comprising three circular patterns in contrasting colours and in two different sizes, with a square version, Aros carpets are never exact or symmetrical. The subtle asymmetry in each design invites freedom from conventional uses, making it possible to combine several pieces to create magical volumes in a single space. Aros carpets are almost perfect, almost discreet and indiscreet, almost joyful and happy. The technique used to make Aros carpets is hand-quilting: this technique requires a tool similar to a gun to pierce the fibre threads in a fabric previously stretched in a loom. To start the process, the strands are perforated in areas marked by the mapping, then the protruding strands are cut and shaved to achieve the desired hair height. The design is created with scissors or a needle and, once the pattern is defined, a layer of latex is applied to the bottom of the carpet so that the threads remain attached to the structure.
