Designed by the Italian designer and architect Michele De Lucchi, and produced since 2015 by Alessi, Pulcina is the result of a long and intense collaboration between the Alessi and Illycaffè brands. The intent of the two companies was to create a "Moka of the new millennium", with features that increase the functionality of the classic mocha and develop a shape capable of enhancing both the smell and the aroma of the drink so loved by Italians. In 2016, with Pulcina, Alessi obtained the prestigious recognition of the Good Design Award. The geometry of Pulcina is very particular: it actually has a sinuous and sophisticated shape, studied by experts to obtain an optimal extraction of the coffee, enhancing its aroma.
