Open to change and innovation, Alessi was always distinguished itself for being a real industrial research laboratory in the field of applied arts, not a simple industry in the classical sense. Despite the openness to innovations and new technologies, Alessi remains tied to the traditions and cultural background of its territory. He manages to create a balance between innovation and tradition by making handicrafts with the use of machines. Since 1921, and still today in the Crusinallo di Omegna factory, Alessi has mainly focused on the production of products created by cold working metals. In recent decades it was included in its range many other materials such as wood, porcelain, glass and plastic, expanding its catalog and forming unique products, oscillating between technological complexity and typical details of craftsmanship.
