Ossidiana espresso coffee maker is one of the projects of the illustrious Sicilian architect Mario Trimaschi. In this everyday ornament, our designer nevertheless wanted to have an eye towards the narrative capacity of objects. Ossidiana is a coffee maker designed with the same logic of prehistoric flints; recalls the first ancestral design intervention, which simply involved the chipping of a stone for the creation of perfect tools. It is a boundary experiment between design and sculpture, which proposes a formal familiarity in a decisively sculpted form. It is an attempt to reformulate ergonomics, a geometry that adapts perfectly to the shape of the hands, allowing for great ease of opening and closing.
