“Where exactly is the boundary between an object and its environment?”
The Serbian designer Marija Dondovic explores this idea with her 'crooked closet'. This cabinet is completely dependent on the surrounding environment: it can only stand when leaning in a corner or against the wall. The furniture is in symbiosis with the interior. To the viewer, the planks seem to partially disappear into the wall; a visual illusion that challenges reality. Yet it remains highly functional.
