Geometric juxtapositions, rationalism of industrial design and intuition and feeling: these are the terms that define the work of the architect and designer Alessandro Mendidi. Winner of the Compasso d'Oro in 1979, Mendini is an artist who has managed to give a new face to Italian design. The designer engages in a reinterpretation of familiar objects, which responds to the ethics of reusing forms already known. Each of his creations marries a postmodernist aesthetic, developing its own expressive modality, imbued with creativity and, at times, lightheartedness.
