Timor is a perpetual table calendar designed by Enzo Mari and put into production in 1967 by the Italian brand Danese. Its shape is inspired by the old railway signs of the 1940s, when Mari was a child. The choice to produce this object in ABS plastic and not in other materials such as iron or aluminum derives from making it lighter, easier to assemble and with a low cost, intentions that according to Mari had absolute precedence over taste, since he thought that smooth, glossy surface and the precision of molded ABS gave the calendar a timeless appeal. To those who asked him what he thought of the Timor calendar, Mari replied: "Perpetual calendars always present some substantial difficulties: remember to update them every day, they require interaction".
