Kyma is a collection of furnishing objects, signed by the designer Serena Confalonieri for the Sambonet brand. In Greek "Kyma" means wave, but it is also the name of an architectural element present in ancient Greece, which became well known in the great works of later times. This smooth, curved or shaped band, used to separate or smooth the transition between two surfaces of an object, is the birth, development and life of the Kyma collection: a series of objects with a unique style. The Italian designer Serena Confalonieri has ventured into the study of shapes, to combine the solidity of flat geometry with the refinement of a smooth decorative sign. In Kyma, a sine wave, represented by a stainless steel tube, runs along the outside of each object, delicately delineating its profiles. The fascinating waves give continuity and movement to the clear lines of the internal geometry of each object, with hexagonal, rectangular, square, octagonal and round shapes. For the realization of this collection Sambonet has chosen latest generation finishes, such as copper, gold and Hi-Tech, the result of technological research developed in the application of PVD to steel. Trays, candlesticks, saucers and much more come together to form a rare collection, comprising objects expertly modeled to bring pleasant colors to all the furniture!
